I am a third generation Canadian, a mix of Spanish, Irish and Alsatian backgrounds. My grandfather came from the Valencia region of Spain in 1914 and worked at the Dumart Meat Facility here in Kitchener. He later opened a corner store in Guelph and that is where I spent my youth.
My wife and I met in high school, and have raised our family in Ward 9 at 157 Glen Road, it is the only home our kids have known. Our three children attended preschool, elementary, junior and high school in our area.
I have a wide range of hobbies and interests. I am an avid cyclist, hiker and canoeist, but also have a passion for motorsports. I have raced snowmobiles and am one of the oldest to race at 54 years of age. You often see me in Ward 9, walking and biking on the Iron Horse Trail.
I am a big fan of the arts, supporting our children as they took music and dance lessons, and two attended the arts program at Eastwood Collegiate on Weber Street. I am a regular at the Multicultural Festival, Blues Festival, and Kultrun Music festival.
